Fabric to start the quilt for my Grandaughter Tara
Can't wait to get started
We woke up to a few inches of snow this morning and our backyard looked so pretty with
the heavy wet snow on the trees. THANK GOODNESS its nothing like what the eastern people got.
I liked the way the flash made the snow show up on my little flowering crabapple tree

Drove to Newton today to go to Charlotte's Super Bowl Sale
Here's all I came home with

Yesterday this beautiful hawk came swooping down and landed on the fence in our backyard
He only stayed long enough for a couple of quick pictures

I braved the snow this morning and went to an Estate Sale.
The only thing I came home with was some thread and "LOTS OF IT"
The box is one of those big fishing tackle boxes that opens on both sides and
both sides were packed with thread.
Some still had the wrappers on them and there were alot of wooden spools too.
Now I'll bet even with all this thread I still won't have the right color

T-SHIRT QUILT DONE
I kept the back with one black strip down middle back and then did a border and the binding in black.
I hand tied in each corner of shirts and then did a 'stippling stitch' around the edge along the border

They said the sun would come out mid morning so we too them at their word
SHOULDN"T HAVE
The fog never cleared couldnt' see much but we still had a nice drive
We went east and over to Latham and Beaumont.
2 deer jumped out of the fog and trees and we saw an eagle but didn't get pics of either.

Decided to drive back over to Yoder to my little shop again
The weather was cold and foggy and the fog made everything white with frost
Then when the wind blew it looked like it was snowing
It was Beautiful
We saw an armadillo on a back country road and a coyote but he was too fast for me

Then I came home and finished a CrazyQuilt Block

It has been cold enough lately that my husband has been able to go ice fishing a couple of times. SO today he decided this might be the last day to go since it is supposed to warm up this week. Since the shop that sells some of my crafts is only 10 miles from where he fishes we decided to go this morning. Got to the lake and he took off across the lake and I drove off to the shop. I got there and there was a sign in door "closed Mondays Jan & Feb" OK I should have called. Anyway got back to where husband was fishing and took several pictures and no fish so then we headed home.
We decided to turn off and go thru Garden Plain and about two blocks from right downtown we saw a red fox in the ditch. Boy he was sure pretty.

Here's husband walking out with another crazy man..Click on photo to see more

I decided to use the strips in middle and side
This fabric is pretty "BUSY" so hopefully the strips will help break it up
Hmmm maybe I need a strip across the middle

CrazyQuilt Block #5 and #6 Done

Monday, January 4. 2010
I've been looking for a certain fabric and I found it at the quilt shop in Alden Ks
which is a little bit of a drive from here So I suggested we drive there and then on over to the wildlife refuge.
First things first I got the fabric then we drove on over to the refuge
We figured since it was so cold that there might not be any animals out....WRONG!
We saw snowgeese, at least 20 eagles, waaaaay over 50 deer, and about a dozen turkeys.
We drove by this old farm that had "junk" so thick you couldn't see the house. There were old cars and who knows what else in there but the picture I took was of old bikes and that was just one small part of it
WAS A GREAT DAY!

click on photo to see more pictures...OH and the fabric

OK OK! ! ! So it took me 8 or 9 years to get this far.....HAHA
SO does that mean I have another 8 years to get it completely "finished"?
I got the blocks out the other day...really all I intended to do was put the new ones from OzJan away and the more I looked at them the more I decided it needed to be finished.
Even tho I'm not a 'brown' person I thot it needed a plain brown....nothing fancy or it would take away from the blocks.
Found what I think is the perfect brown to bring them all together.
Now I don't have a clue what to put on the back....will have to go shopping I guess!
THX... OZJAN...DEB...TERESA...it brought back some "GOOD Memories"
